Verizon mobile broadband is among the most used broadband plans in the US today. For 5 GB data service plan, the monthly charge is $59.99. This is the most used plan, however, there are also several other options available to users.

There is also a plan for $39.99 for 50 MB and another one for just $9.99. However, exceeding the data limit could lead to high fees and penalty.

Also, there are a few online activities which are allowed by Verizon like uploading, games, video and streaming of audio. This could be quite helpful for users and a good money saving scheme. Verizon provides wireless modems, AirCards and PC Cards which range in their prices from $29.99 right to $129.99.

There is a fee of $35 for activation of the services and a fee of $175 for terminating the contract earlier. However, this fee would be reduced if the service is extended for longer.

Data cap

There is a data cap on the Verizon mobile broadband, like most other service providers of 5 GB. However, if the limit is exceeded the charges would be quite high. For Verizon, if the user exceeds the data cap the cost for it would be $0.25 for every MB which is still not too high if compared to some of the other service providers.

However, this is still not a very small amount since it turns out to be $256 for one GB after the limit of 5 GB is crossed. This is quite a huge amount so it is best for users to think about their usage and accordingly choose a plan which would offer them enough data cap.

Smartphones

For using the Verizon mobile broadband on the smartphones there is a monthly fee of $29.99. Like many other service providers, this fee is for unlimited usage. Users who want to use just the data service and not the voice plan will have to pay $5 more.

The charges for text messages are separate at $20 for 5000 messages. Apart from using the smartphones for the mobile broadband, there are several other devices which can also be used as a tethered modem like blackberries for replacing the data card.

The service provider also offers free download of a software which makes it easy to use it for this purpose. However, when using it this way, there is an additional charge of $15. Also, there would be same limit of 5 GB when using it as a tethered modem.

Wi-Fi

The Verizon mobile broadband also includes access to unlimited internet through Wi-Fi wherever it is available. Users can use it at any of the Wi-Fi hotspots and even at their office or home if it is available. The best thing about using Wi-Fi is that the connections are faster than the mobile broadband.

Also, another benefit is that the data usage would not be counted into the 5 GB limit for data so it is a great way to prevent any added expenses by exceeding the data limit.
