US Cellular easyedge Mobile Broadband Service

US Cellular is a well known name when it comes to mobile broadband services since it is currently the 6th largest wireless network operating in 26 states and have a customer base of 6 million.

The company had been founded in the year 1983 and is based out of Chicago. The main advantage of using US Cellular is that their plans are very simple and easy for the users to understand. Also, users just need to sign a contract for one year instead of two as required by most other service providers.

However, there are also a few disadvantages of using US Cellular services. The speed is quite low when compared to some of the newer service providers and they only have 2 modems to choose from.

US Cellular mobile broadband plans

Currently US Cellular offers two plans to users. The Easyedge 20 MB plan provides users 20 MB of transfer for a fee of $30 every month. Any usage above that limit would be charged at $0.004/KB. Another plan offered by US Cellular is Easyedge 5 GB which is a regular plan offered to users at the fee of $60 every month.

Contract and payment options

It is not compulsory to sign up for a contract in order to be able to use the mobile broadband services of US Cellular. However, users who do sign a contract get discounts on the equipment. No credit check is conducted t the time of signing up. The payments can be made by the users through the service provider’s website, through their retail stores, mail or telephone. Users can pay through their debit or credit cards, cash or check. The speed for data transfer ranges from 40 to 60 kbps on an average.

Fees and charges

There is a one time fee of $30 for activating the US Cellular broadband services. In some circumstances this fee could be waived off. Also, there would be a cancellation fee for users who decide to discontinue with their services. The maximum cancellation charge is $150. US Cellular offers two options to users, an ExpressCard modem or UT Starcom which are available for $99 and $49.95 respectively.
