Smartphone reviews of the Samsung Transform have just been published. Smartphone ratings for the Transform are 3.5 out of 5 stars. Positive features include a nice design, front-facing camera, and outstanding call quality. Negative aspects are a short battery life and lengthy time for Sprint IDs to load.
With a name like Transform, one would expect this android smartphone to revolutionize the industry. It does not do that but it does include a robust list of midrange features like a 3.5-inch touch screen, front and rear facing cameras, and slide out physical QWERTY keyboard. This phone is also one of the first three android phones that feature Sprint ID Packs. These preset profiles configure themes, widgets, app shortcuts, email settings, and more.
The display of the Transform is bright and vibrant and the touch responsiveness is good. The front-facing VGA camera allows callers to take self-portraits and conduct video calls. The 3.2-megapixel rear camera features a flash. The phone has a microSD card port and 3.5mm headset jack. In addition to the 256 MB RAM onboard, Samsung provides a 2 GB memory card. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard is spacious and features wide, flush keys that are a bit harder to use than domed keys but pressing is still relatively easy.
Other features include voice dialing, video camera, speakerphone, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G. Web browser features include history, bookmarking, multiple tabs, and the ability to save images. The Sprint Music Plus Store allows users to populate the included music player with tunes.
The Samsung Transform from Sprint costs $149.99 with a two-year service contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Call quality is excellent as is the audio quality of the music playback. The battery life is rather weak but for those who do not mind recharging, this is a great mid-range android smartphone.
