The HTC Tilt2 is a powerful smartphone that has a lot to offer. It comes equipped with Windows Mobile 6.5 and features a roomy QWERTY keyboard and nice touch screen. This plus the great call quality make this phone a worthy purchase for those who can afford the $200 price tag through AT&T. That is, as long as they do not mind the bulkiness of the phone and the fact that it does not have a 3.5mm standard headphone jack.
AT&T beat out its competition by offering the HTC Tilt2 with Windows Mobile 6.5 included. This provides the Tilt2 with a more user-friendly interface. Tilt2 also includes more features than many competitor phones. It contains Microsoft Office Mobile Suite, which permits editing of Word and Excel files and allows PowerPoint presentations to be viewed from the phone.
The Tilt2 also sports improvements over its predecessor, the Tilt, in the form of a roomy QWERTY keyboard and a crisp touch screen. The keyboard includes a top row containing symbols, with numbers doubling up on some of the letter keys. The buttons are large, spaced nicely and the doubling of numbers and letters does not affect typing speed or accuracy.
This phone is a little bulky, but that is only to accommodate its beautiful 3.6-inch WVGA resistive touch screen. Since the Tilt2 does not come with a jack for a standard 3.5mm headset, the included audio adapter must be plugged into the mini USB port on the device in order to use headphones. Some great features of the Tilt2 are Bluetooth 2.0, built in GPS, 3G capability, and Wi-Fi. The camera is 3.2-megapixels and features many tools and settings. Picture quality is adequate, but could use some improvement.
Those who are willing to pay $200 for a smartphone should check out the HTC Tilt2. It has a great operating system, crisp display on the useful touch screen, and an adequately sized QWERTY keyboard. Performance in terms of both call quality and on-board functions are great. The only improvements that could be made are further redesign to reduce bulkiness and the inclusion of a standard headset jack.
