Part II - What Do You Look most when choosing a business cell phone (eg Smart Phone, PDA)?

I asked this issue in a large community of networking companies recently ..... "What are the characteristics and the factors you consider most important when choosing a business cell phone .... and why? "

Here are several answers to your studies and your pleasure:

* "It is dull, but ... business profits and value for money.

Assuming you have a Tarriff firms sorted then I'd be looking at d'....

* Economy

* Connectivity - eg, quad-band so that we can standardize on a couple of
combined global

* Features - for example, the PC sync for Outlook to work, etc.

* Support Vendor decent.

Pretty low on the list are things like eye candy and MP3 player - No iPhone for us unfortunately!

* "When there is a" cell phone companies "much depends on what you will use it for, where you will use and how often you use it.

If you need only mail access and your HQ is in America North and RIM is still king .... even when roaming abroad. If you need more than simple access e-mail, the world becomes more complicated. Bottom line is to consider the TCO of any solution you choose and make a choice platform that is not a choice of mobile phone. "

* "My preference list:

- Good data connectivity. EDGE or HSDPA.

- Very good client.

- Good PC-Sync capability.

- Able to view and edit MS Office, Acrobat files

- Bluetooth connectivity. support meeting room mobile presentations.

- The QWERTY keyboard is essential. will be useful if a foldable keyboard with mobile support, attached is provided. Notes can be directly created using the original keyboard.

- Wireless connectivity and seamless switching between GSM / UMTS and WLAN.

* "The following features are a must for my cell phone company:

- Qwerty keyboard

- Office suite / editable

- Support for Adobe

- Sharp Organizer

I think the iPhone is defintely a good bet for this category, although now I'm Motorola PDA. "

* "Simplicity. I hate it when mobiles have gimmicks as to call almost becomes an option. I do not want camera, no need for text, I do not send emails, I did not need a color screen. I just want a simple phone with great buttons and a simple menu.

* "First I want a phone that has a good battery, excellent radio and lots of storage.

Next I look for something that works with Office, since I need to synchronize with Outlook and view documents. In the following email which he needs to be able to make effective e-mail. For example, I want him to have some form of keyboard layout rather than just touching.

In the past I have also examined the ability of the device to perform a number of enterprise applications such SAP, Oracle, etc.so that I can access CRM and financial data systems.

Now I have a Sony Ericsson P1i as my camera main and replaced a BlackBerry with an HTC Touch Plus as my data device. However, I also have a Sony Vaio SZ61XP works with HSDPA embedded if my laptop has become my smartphone.

What I would say is that despite the efforts of. dot mobi to get better ..... the most effective means for pressing the web on a phone was to run the Opera browser, I'm on three devices. "

* "Ok .. I am not sure how the iPhone can be regarded as a cell phone company. Like most Mac products it hinders activity more than it helps.

In a phone, it must MUST be able to work with and exchange in "Always update" / email in real time. It should also be able to support encryption of email and be manageable remotely. Such as BlackBerry or Windows Mobile 6.

Someone stole my phone, and it is already locked, so no use for them as soon as I communicate with the office, bam .. Now, it is also deleted and disabled. Instant clipboard.

My current favorites ..... Moto Q Global, Blackjack with the WM6 update, or Black Jack II.

I am a little addicted to cell phones, and have owned almost every type of phone that has existed, the rest will all fail in some way.

Cingular / ATT 3125 (aka HTC Star Trek) was actually really cool. Full specifications the Windows smartphone, but then I decided I could not live without a full QWERTY keyboard. "

* "I would choose the E61 Nokia for Business. The best feature of this phone is that you do not need a SIM card to access the Internet or your regulator in the local office if your wireless connection is enabled. It supports an email client and allows you to access your mail personal and official. The phone has all the features of a desktop computer and supports most file types. "

* "First and foremost, as I travel internationally very often, I need an unlocked GSM phone so I can easily exchange the SIM card, and it should be quad-band (world) compatible.

WiFi and VoIP ( "true" voice over IP - namely SIP, Skype is not - both GPRS and WiFi) is a must.

Easy synchronization with Microsoft Outlook. Full QWERTY keyboard. IMAP mail client, full Internet browser.

The obvious choice for my needs is the Nokia E61i ... Phone absolute best I have ever found for the user's international business which must remain fully connected from remote communities.

Also should add that the Bluetooth is a necessity and the ability to expand (with FlashSD or what) the memory to at least 2GB. Should also afford Full Media Player (audio and video) to watch movies or listen to some tunes on those long haul flights. Must also support or ACCD2
everything he called for the Bluetooth stereo audio (I love my Motorola S9 headset !).... Moreover, the Nokia E61i or E61 (same as E61 but with camera) wins hands down .. single cell (smart) phone I found that meets all my demands ".

* "Electronic Business" means you probably need to deal to many, many calls and many tasks.

Important things are:

1. call how history works. If someone call you several times that it is good if the phone can store all such call, not only with the last person. My Treo storing stories of all incoming and outgoing calls for months and months (I was having at least 50 calls per day). So, call history should be full and long.

2. great memory for contacts - for obvious reasons. And many areas of contacts - can also put more information on people so that when you have 3 people with the name John Smith, you'll be able to find one you need.

3. Fully functional keypad. When you know someone is on the meeting and you do not tell him he could help send him a message - we'll see even if the person is the meeting. If you have a QWERTY keyboard when composing a message will take 70-80% less time than doing a
traditional mobile.

4. Phone must be reliable. The last thing you want is your phone does not kill all your contacts when you are traveling for business outside your country. You also do not want to lose tons of phone calls made to hang for a couple of hours and you did not know.

5. GPS is sometimes useful for people who travel a lot. But not all business.

The phone model does not really count, but I think Nokia is a trusted brand, Palm Treo is also a good thing. "

* "A phone that you can answer, find the contact and call them without spilling coffee on your suit. "

More observations on the real issue will be reported in Part III of this series.
