Are SPRINT smart phones and PDA's required to have an internet/media Package?

by NancyJ on March 30, 2010

My sister got a black berry pearl and the salesman said that you only needed it for 1 month, then you could cancel the Internet. But then another salesman said that you are required to have an Internet package for all Sprint PDA's and smart phones....

Which one is true?

You are required to have a smartphone data plan for $30 if you have a PDA. Read the fine print of the contract, it usually states that your cell phone company has the right to add a data plan to your account if you do not have one. The first sales rep. probably told you that you only had to keep the data plan for 1 month because he makes commission on the features you add and if you don’t add the feature, he doesn’t make money.

Not always… Maybe at the beginning but not always…

You actually have to add the $30 data package onto your current plan
