3 UK Launches £100 Android Phone

In the midst of all the launches and releases of the latest innovations in mobile phone technology comes the Racer, a one hundred pounds Android based device which is the culmination of the efforts of both ZTE and UK. This mobile phone is readily available to pre-pay consumers.

Poised as a newbie in the mobile Internet device world, the Racer is also introduced as a gadget that can provide Android technology and services some of which are the famous Google Applications and services and the Marketplace, two of the most popular aspects of the Android phone.

Responding to the very obvious fact that the 3G technology has been unavailable to the many because of its very prohibitive cost, 3UK Head of Internet Services David Kerringan was quoted as saying that “We want to bring the 3G mobile internet experience to as many customers as we can”. Truly, with its a hundred pounds price, it is way cheaper than its famous counterparts including the new iPhone 4.

The advantages of carrying an Android Based mobile phone at this range allows 3 UK to control and manage services parallel and across as many other mobile phones as possible. The Inq mobile phones have been the first target hit by this type of service, a phone still based on Brew. Another mobile gadget which stuck with Brew is O2 but is now carrying HTC's Sense UI.

Targeting the mass market, ZTE and 3UK has a very optimistic outlook on the outcome of the release of the new Racer and ZTE's Director of Mobile Device said that they project tens of thousands of these devices to be shipped within the year. The only question is, will 3 be able to growing demand in network handling capacity and availability of internet bandwidth which is what has been the bane of existence of most major mobile internet handsets today? Will it be able to satisfy the needs of the ever-wanting never satisfied IT crowd that are so technical savvy they just need a few minutes to master the functions of a new phone?

3 UK Head of Internet Services David Kerrigan states that their strategy is hinged on making them the best 3G site in the United Kingdom. And this can be achieved through providing better service and consistent connectivity. The statistics shown is a massive increase in cell sites by more than two hundred. And the great thing about 3 is that informing the customer immediately if there is a new site being opened. Everything still remains to be seen. Will the Racer make it? Will it be able to supply the numbers required to create availability to all those who want it.
