Free Wi-Fi Hotspots For RVers

Starbucks is one of the most recent companies to offers its customers Wi-Fi mobile Internet access. Prior to July 1, Starbucks customers could connect to ATT Wi-Fi service at no charge for two hours if they had a $5 Starbucks card. ATT customers received free mobile broadband access all the time. Now, this wireless Internet access is free for use by any Starbucks customer.

The coffee retailer is collaborating with Yahoo to release the Starbucks Digital Network in the fall. This service will be available in Starbucks locations operated by U.S.-based companies. Through the Starbucks Digital Network, users will be able to access different paid sites, such as The Wall Street Journal Web site. They will also get free downloads and access to exclusive previews, content, local activities, and news.

This is just one of the ways that RVers can get free access to the Internet while traveling the open road. They will only need a smart phone, laptop, or tablet computer with a wireless card in order to get online. Once connected, all they need to do is sit back, enjoy their latte, and surf away on the Web until they are ready to get back on the highway.

Starbucks joins companies such as Panera Bread, McDonald’s, and Barnes and Noble, who already offer their customers free Wi-Fi access. There are Web sites devoted entirely to this subject and they feature free directories of Wi-Fi hotspot locations. Many of the rest stop restaurants, like Big Boy and Bob Evans, can be found on this list.

RVers should take their mobile Internet laptops, smartphones, or tablet computers on their travels because they will need one of these devices in order to get this free Internet access. There are more and more locations offering this service every day, including public libraries, airports, and many hotels and motels. Those who have an RV will never be without wireless Internet access.
