There is the Total Equipment Coverage and the name explains itself. It is the combination of Verizon’s Extended Warranty Program and Asurion’s Wireless Phone Protection plan. The package is amazingly attractive because the span of coverage includes the device itself (and the accessories) are covered if they become non-operational for any type of cause, stolen or lost, damaged accidentally, or is simply malfunctioning. Asurion’s Wireless Protection alone has a unique type of coverage. Of course, it is a third party but one that is authorized by Verizon and if the phone is lost, accidentally damaged (includes physical and liquid damage), or stolen, all you need to do is file a claim within sixty days of the occurrence of the phone issue and when approved, you could immediately get a total replacement of your phone.

Of course, the replacement would be the same make and model as the one that you have. But on special circumstances, a substitute model near the model that you have may be sent to you as replacement. This may be possible if the manufacturer of the exact model that you have has ceased and stocks are not anymore available. And color of the model cannot be guaranteed. The insurance coverage can be terminated whenever you want and you may also receive a pro-rated refund of what is unused of the premium that you paid. Extended warranties are also available for cell phones which have exceeded the allowable length of time on the regular warranty offered by the manufacturer, for an additional fee, of course.

Verizon subscribers can apply for the extended warranty by enrolling to it within thirty days of activation of his or her cell phone or an upgrade to a new phone gadget. Enrollment can be done by calling Verizon’s wireless customer service.
