The new policy allows subscribers to apply for insurance long after they have bought their units.
According to Sprint executives, the move to lift the limits imposed on insurance application is in response to the need of protecting its subscribers and their mobile phones. In recent years, there has been a marked increase in the theft of cell phones and smartphones. Authorities explain that this is due to the fact that today’s mobile phones have become very expensive yet marketable.
