Toshiba AC100 Discussed

Mobile internet access is overwhelmingly increasing in the past months. This development has brought in countless new advances in the mobile internet gadget section of the IT industry and we just cannot make up our minds on which to choose since almost every week, there is a new mobile thingamajig being introduced in some part of the world.

August this year bring in one of the best mobile internet device launches of the decade – the Toshiba AC100. As if Toshiba has not yet made the information technology world abuzz with excitement after last week’s much publicized market unveiling of the business-biased Portege R700 and the Libretto W100, the electronics giant comes up with its own mobile internet device that uses the now famous Google OS Android.

Already predicted as going to be the next apple of the eye of the mobile internet-loving world, the new mobile internet gadget sports an awesome slim look with thickness at a maximum of twenty one millimeter to still a wafer thin fourteen millimeter. Yes, mobile it is because it only weighs approximately eight hundred seventy grams. The rest of the tremendously awesome specification package on the Toshiba AC100 includes 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra processor, 8GB built-in storage, WiFi b/g/n, WLAN 802.11, USB 2.0 port, the Opera Mobile browser, 512 MB RAM and the optional accessories SD card reader and Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, and 3G connectivity.

Some of the minor “huge-rooms-for-improvement” facets of the Toshiba AC100 I would say would be its 10.1-inch LED – backlit display and the 8GB built-in storage. Being compact and all, the 10.1 –inch display is not exactly the appropriate screen size for mobile internet devices. And the built-in storage is actually “built” to afford much file acquisition. You have to utilize storage expansion via the SD card. The AC 100 seems to be not that compact enough considering the fact it is supposed to be a carry around gadget that does not replace the regular desktop when it comes to storage capacity and workload capability. And since it is not designed to match the capabilities of a garden variety desktop, it might as well be as compact as possible and really easy to carry around. It is very light, though.

One of the redeeming aspects of the Toshiba AC100 though is its utilization of the fast-becoming famous Google mobile OS Android. This can be the start of a smartphone using the same OS in the coming days.
