The Toshiba Satellite A505-S6025 includes an Intel Core i3 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a 500 GB 5,400 rpm hard drive. This provides the device with a lot of computing power, some of which is necessary to run the dedicated graphics features. With gaming in mind, it is surprising that Toshiba did not increase the screen resolution from its included 1,366x768 pixels to an HD 1,900x1,080 display.
This mobile Internet laptop is very large and for just a bit more money, consumers could purchase a smaller device at the higher-end of the spectrum. But it could also be the perfect choice for those who do not balk at paying the money for a 16-inch LED backlit screen with great speakers and a large 12-cell battery. Individuals who do not mind toting this eight pound laptop around will be able to enjoy excellent Harmon Kardon speakers and a large keyboard complete with a full-sized number pad.
Ports abound on the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6025 and include 2 USBs, 1 combo eSATA sleep and charge, FireWire, HDMI, and ExpressCard slot. Mobile Internet comes courtesy of 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. The only thing that seems to be missing in terms of mobile laptop broadband options is Bluetooth. The bulky twelve cell battery protruding from the back of this laptop provides at least 4 ½ hours of use while simultaneously playing video and running dedicated graphics.
Consumers who feel that price is no option will not mind paying over $800 for a laptop with 4 GB RAM, a 500 GB hard drive, an Intel Core i3 processor, and Nvidia GeForce 310M dedicated graphics. They will get the benefit of long battery life, rich sounding speakers, 802.11 Wi-Fi, and spacious keyboard on the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6025. However, they may also get a pain in their backs from hauling around this mammoth device.
