The Palm Pre Plus smartphone was revealed at this year’s CES computer technology tradeshow. It was met with great interest then and continues to receive great reviews from critics and smartphone users alike. The newest in the line of Verizon smartphones, their customers can use this phone as a 3G mobile hot spot.
The redesigned keyboard is just one of the enhancements that improves the feel and appearance of the Pre Plus. Another great feature is the phone’s inductive back cover, which allows for Touchstone charging. The Pre Plus has enhanced performance thanks to more RAM and internal storage. The phone’s interface is easier to use than previous versions and the device boasts great ability to multitask.
The phone features a slider design and 3.1-inch HVGA multitouch screen. The keys on the QWERTY keyboard have a strong feel to them, which streamlines message composition. The phone’s camera and flash are located on the back, and the power button, headphone jack, and silent ringer switch are on top. The left side of the phone features a Micro-USB port.
However, the Pre Plus is not without its drawbacks. The volume of the speakerphone is too soft and the portrait-oriented keyboard is a bit difficult for those with larger thumbs to use. In addition, though this product is intended to be used with Verizon’s wireless services, it does not offer support for V Cast Music or Video. The camera does not feature an editing option and the temperature of the phone itself can become quite hot.
