Lenovo is known for its ThinkPad systems for business users and it now has an IdeaPad product line geared toward personal users. The computers are a bit costly, but they are nice looking and include a lot of features. The 
Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 0633 comes with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB RAM, a 500 GB Serial ATA hard drive, and discrete graphics. All this costs a pretty penny and comes with the added pain of poor battery life. The price will be the main obstacle this laptop faces when it comes to the competition.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 is a 14-inch mobile broadband laptop that provides good performance when it comes to gaming, thanks to its Intel Core i5 processor and discrete graphics. It contains touch control buttons to launch apps and these allow the touch pad and keyboard to be deactivated with a swipe. However, these controls are not very reliable, making it difficult to do what you are actually attempting. The regular touch buttons are great, however, as are the touch pad and keyboard.
The wide screen display features a nice 1,366x768 pixel resolution and bright, clear color that is perfect for watching HD videos. The Y460 contains HDMI video connection, 3 USB ports, 1 USB/eSATA port, and an SD card reader. Networking options are Bluetooth, 802.11 wireless Internet, and Ethernet.
There is no Blu-ray available for this mobile broadband laptop, which is surprising since the Y460 is so multimedia-oriented. The Core i5 processor is speedy and can multitask with ease.
The 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 GPU allows the Y460 to perform very well while gaming. However, gamers should keep this laptop plugged in because the six-cell battery lasted only a bit more than two hours during testing.
Consumers who are willing to spend $1,000 for a 14-inch mobile Internet laptop will find the features of the Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 0633 impressive. The Intel Core i5 processor provides no lag when multitasking and 4 GB of RAM and a 500 GB Serial ATA hard drive contribute to the good performance.
Also included are Bluetooth, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and discrete graphics. The downside to owning this laptop, aside from the steep price tag, is its short battery life.
