The Fujitsu LifeBook MH380 comes with an Intel Atom 1.66 GHz processor, 250 GB hard drive, and 1 GB RAM for a price just under $450. This device is part of the Netbook category of mobile Internet laptops designed for business use. It has some nice features, such as a high resolution screen and good speakers, but there are better deals on the market.
One of the major drawbacks of the LifeBook MH380 is its design. It looks slick and futuristic at first glance, but when you get down to it, it is cramped and clunky. The upper lid opens to a wide angle, which is nice for typing on this small device. However, the interior is cluttered with LED indicators that are a distraction and the exterior has a cumbersome battery jutting from the bottom.
The tapered keyboard and touch pad are much too small and the pad takes some figuring out in order to use it properly. The screen is a nice 10.1 inches with a 1,366x768 native resolution, better than most of the competition. The stereo speakers are loud and clear and the device also has a Webcam and microphone. The six-cell battery ran for just over five hours during video playback testing, making it above average in its class.
Included are 1 GB RAM, an Atom N450 processor, and a 250 GB hard drive. These are standard for most Netbooks so they do not justify the higher price of this machine. The processor is not great for multi-tasking and it cannot accommodate full-screen streaming of videos. It is adequate for performing simple tasks and browsing the Web. Three USB ports, an SD card reader, VGA, Bluetooth, and 802.11 b/g/n wireless Internet are also included on the LifeBook MH380.
As far as mobile broadband Netbooks go, the Fujitsu LifeBook MH380 is nothing special. It comes with a high price tag, awkward design, and huge battery. The Atom N450 processor, 250 GB hard drive, and 1 GB RAM are standard for Netbooks. The high resolution display, Webcam, loud speakers, microphone, Bluetooth, and long battery life are nice things to have but do not justify the high price tag.
