The Dell Adamo XPS is a thin, but large, mobile Internet laptop that includes a 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a 128 GB hard drive. It has a unique design that houses both a Webcam and stereo speakers with high definition audio. However, its short battery life and lack of SD card slot make the price tag of almost $2,000 difficult to swallow.

The Adamo line sits at the apex of high-end offerings from computer manufacturer Dell. The original version of this wireless Internet laptop was created to rival the MacBook Air. The revamped XPS is even more creative in design and has a 9.99mm body. Retailing for $1,998, it is anticipated to attract CEOs and others who wish to use the device more as a showpiece than a functioning product.

The lack of optical drive, few connections and ports, and weak battery life are the drawbacks of this work of art. Even though it is thin, this laptop appears to be larger than its 13.4 inch screen size. This may be due to the large lid that can be opened only by swiping the heat sensitive strip located on its front edge. The LED display is clear and bright but because it is glossy, it tends to pick up glare. Even though the Adamo XPS has high definition audio, the stereo speakers do not emit high-quality sound. The 1.4 GHz processor is adequate for regular multitasking but is no match for the new Intel Core-series. In terms of mobile broadband networking, this laptop has Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and is Bluetooth ready. Where the Adamo XPS really comes up short is regarding its lack of SD card slot and its battery that lasts less than two hours.
