Mobile subscription all over the world has risen to a very high number with an estimated 5 billion mobile subscriptions just this 2010 which means this covers about 2/3 of the world in totality. This is only coming from the number of people in a single subscription. But since majority of the population have multiple subscriptions, this only leads to a bigger number of mobile subscribers. With this development, it would not be unlikely if one day people themselves will be outnumbered by cell phone subscriptions. The most dominant in this progression is technically the iPhone.
There are several contributing factors by which the high rise is being pinpointed to. First would have to be the fact that even developing markets like India, Indonesia and Africa is experiencing an explosive growth. For now African mobile usage is at 22 percent but still growing. Cell phone penetration may have hit Europe and North America at 100 percent but even Asia and the Pacific are predicted to reach 65 percent before the year ends.
Another factor is the fast drop in monthly tariffs and handsets are now available at very low costs. The improvement on smartphones such as iPhones and Android devices brought about by the technological advances is another contributing factor to the growth in mobile subscription. Multiple subscriptions are even progressing because of the availability of mobile internet devices such as the iPad and ebook readers. All sorts of mobile activities are fast becoming even more convenient for mobile subscribers.
This however is not such good news for landlines and DSL or cable internet connections. This is because more and more users are now abandoning these types of connections and exchanging them to pure mobile. There is definitely more convenience offered by mobile internet subscriptions.
It is being predicted that the numbers will have no other way to go but up during the remaining half of 2010. Mainly because this is due to more internet devices hitting the mobile market and all aiming to make it bigger than iPad. More options are being presented before gadget fanatics and so people would find better reasons to try out the latest and upgraded devices. There is no way that mobile subscription will be abandoned or even drop given the proof of patronage and the attention that technology is giving in mobile devices enhancements.
Folks all over the world are assured of being reached by mobile subscription and in no time it will be no surprise if everyone in all corners of the world, even surpassing races and genders, will have one.
