A lot of people find that a fun, quirky and upbeat video that promotes a particular product is much easier to look at than a barrage of merchandise information that bombards the potential users with details that are deemed to sometimes be far too technical and monotonous than necessary. Others also think that the promo videos are too vague and set a seemingly unrealistic view of the product that it is advertising. Whichever opinion you listen to, it cannot be denied that promotional videos are a great way for a certain product to get the attention, acclaim and even the notoriety that is necessary to boost sales and get the product out there.
That being said, merchandisers of such things as mobile phones find it a great idea to create a promotional video that the average consumer can enjoy while being able to discover the features and capabilities that the particular mobile device that is being advertised. The video usually shows the basic capabilities of the mobile phone, but it puts emphasis on the details and features that make the mobile phone a great thing to have. This might be a thinner, wider and more superior display screen, a higher quality of camera with high definition features as well as video recording capabilities. The promo videos also usually put emphasis on the mobile device’s hotspot features and 3G or 4G potentials.
The barrage of promotional videos that are bent on showcasing the wide variety of mobile phone and devices that are out in the market these days make for good competition between the companies that are manufacturing them. These videos also make it easier for the potential consumer to go and compare the merchandise amongst themselves and be able to take their pick of what they think they want and fits their needs to most.
There are those promotional videos that are deemed ‘innovative’ and ‘savvy’, while there are others that are termed as ‘fresh’ and ‘funky’. Yet, it cannot be avoided that there are those that are unfortunate enough to be seen by the consumers as ‘creepy’, ‘dreary’ and ‘boring’. It is therefore the responsibility of the mobile device manufacturer and the people behind the merchandising and advertising of such to find the right amount of balance in order to create a promotional video that is a great balance of the pros and cons of such an advertising tool. This is not an easy job and kudos goes to those that are successful in this endeavour.
