Wireless Internet has developed in the recent years. What started out as a mobile phone application that was accessible only by a few of the elite who can afford it has become the portable internet appliance that is available to a wider and more diverse market. On the other hand, people who could not afford them had to contend with having to go online from either their home computers, or worse their local internet cafes.
These days, however, mobile internet has become more accessible for the people in the lower income bracket of the population. Groups such as the non profit One Economy Corp that are devoted to utilizing this technology in a more productive manner state that they are looking into developing mobile internet services and programs that will be more economically beneficial for those people in the lower income bracket. These services and programs include those that will help them try to find jobs, manage their finances or aid them in their scholastic growth. These groups are doing this because they want to try to find a solution to the socioeconomic problems that plague countries everywhere.
What these groups have done is develop what they call as ‘public purpose applications’. These are the applications that are targeted to help people with the aforementioned activities, as well as help people find emergency services in their locale, their health care management and even with their schoolwork.

However, even they acknowledge that there are still a lot of limitations in wireless internet access. This is especially true for mobile internet that is accessed with the use of a handheld electronic device. This is due to the fact that wireless internet using handhelds can only do a limited amount of things in comparison to using personal computers. That being said, mobile internet is still a very essential tool.
