Troubled with enormous losses when it comes to the number of its subscribers and of course right after the customer base number is tremendously lessened come huge financial setbacks, Sprint Nextel is again faced with even more debilitating supply issues. To show the neck to neck race both these companies are into right now, IDC analyst Godfrey Chua comments that “ Verizon is set to have a hundred million points of presence POPs and it just started and then compare it with what Spring Nextel has on right now – a hundred twenty million points of presence. The gap has exponentially narrowed down between them at a very short span of time.
So, if worse comes to worst and WiMAX was not successful in its initial liftoff, there is still hope for Sprint Nextel in its competitiveness bid. Although it will require more infusion of finances, the next best thing Spring Nextel can do is redefine their connectivity and cover all types of connectivity so that it can provide coverage for phones that it does not usually have direct connections with and offer new terms of connectivity. Though costly, being able to provide LTE internet coverage for areas where WiMAX has weak signals and then WiMAX provides automatic connection in the areas where it is not available.
Considering the fact that Sprint Nextel was not able to hit pay dirt yet even when it had the 4G technology up and running, it can still do some damage control and increase sales by modifying the price scheme. Unlimited use can be quite a magnificent customer grabber but it has to be presented in such a way that it beats other offers. Jam pack most of the great benefits of the services on a single phone and sell it as cheap as you can and that may entice back the subscribers who left.
