T-Mobile recently began selling the BlackBerry Curve 3G for the price of $79.99 with a two-year contract, after instant discount and mail-in rebate. It is one of the latest in the line of BlackBerry smartphones and includes great features and 3G compatibility. BlackBerry fans should take a further look at this device that comes in either Graphite Grey or Smoky Violet.
This phone features the classic slim, rectangular BlackBerry design and a full QWERTY keyboard. A soft touch pad allows users to navigate between included options and menus. A speakerphone and voice activated functions are also included. A two-megapixel camera and the ability to capture and replay short video clips are two nice value-added features, though the picture quality is not great.
The highlights of this phone are Wi-Fi and 3G Web browsing, integrated GPS, stereo Bluetooth, visual voicemail, and access to BlackBerry App World. The device also makes calls over a Wi-Fi network when little or no network coverage is available. As with other BlackBerry products, this phone can by synced with Microsoft Outlook. Users can view and edit email attachments in formats like Microsoft Word and Excel directly from the phone.
The Curve 3G is very similar to its predecessor but does include the added features of GPS and 3G. It is an affordable phone designed for messaging and productivity. The speedy processor and BlackBerry OS 5 platform make the user experience pleasant. The phone can be upgraded to BlackBerry OS 6, adding a new Web browser, revamped home screen, universal search, and more easily accessible messaging features.
