Today, you can explore new frontiers and get to know outer space more intimately with your iPad as NASA releases its free App for iPad.

Through the App, the official website of NASA will be able to connect everyday individuals to the different activities and goings on of the universe (not to mention the activities of the American space agency that is funded by American taxpayers money.

The website is full of handy (or not) information, and delivers NASA’s day to day activities as well. That means you get to see one of the most amazing government agencies in action right at your very screens, in a clean, intuitive, and in a visually compelling way. Not only for the iPad, you can now get all the information that the Website has on your iPhone or iPod touch.

The free NASA App provides information about the different NASA missions, lets you view NASA images at your fingertips, gives you convenient access to NASA TV videos, as well as a list of NASA’s Twitter feeds.

Right on the Missions screen, you can tap on the Filter option and then give the star icon (next to the type of mission you want to be informed about) another tap and the site will bring you to the actual mission in an instant. You can choose from different missions like Earth, Launch Schedules, Solar System, and Universe and so on.

If you want to get a clear and a comprehensive visual simulation about a certain mission, all you have to do is to tap on Missions and choose from the list of different missions. Choose a particular mission that interests you, and you will be transported to screen with a scrollable box of information about the mission.

Anyone who is fascinated by the space beyond will find this free NASA App very exciting. This free iPad App is also in HD, and is a beefed up version of the original iPhone app. Apart from the traditional scrolling of information, it also lets users to live stream NASA TV, track ISS, as well as Earth orbiting satellites.

According to NASA, their goal is to deliver current mission information, images, videos and news updates in the best possible way, thanks to the iPhone and the iPod touch. But now thanks to the tablet phenomenon that is the iPad, NASA was able to enhance and expand the application to accommodate more content and really take advantage of the iPad’s larger, more elaborate screen.
