The iPad is lording it over the tablet PC sales. No other tech firm has come up with an answer to the iPad and released it to match the gadgets capabilities and that is the very reason why the iPad is now basking under the splendor of massive sales and fame. There are talks of new tablets to be released soon that will topple the iPad from its current reigning position but until then, the iPad still commands a comfortable unchallenged lead amongst all the IT companies.
And now, the iPad extends its reach some more with the coming of online sale giant Amazon.com. Yes, the iPad tablet can now be purchased online via the famous shopping entity Amazon. However, not all the iPad versions will be available as of yet and it may come as a bit expensive when bought through the online retail firm since it has glazed the standard retail price of the iPad with premium.
The iPad has not gone exclusive with Amazon though and it is also being marketed by others including Mobile Shark. Not included on the items for sale with Amazon is the much-touted iPad 3G sporting the 16GB model which may frustrate most online buyers since they have to leave the comfort of their home to be able to get one. And the prices may come as a shock when you buy the iPad through Amazon and you might notice a one hundred dollar difference if you directly buy the iPad Wi-Fi only 16GB from the Apple store as compared to buying it from Amazon.com. Strangely, the other iPad models – the 32Gb and the 64GB models are priced the same at the Apple store and with Amazon. There is no immediate explanation on the one hundred dollar premium for the iPad 3G.
Come to think of it, if you are not that lethargic, walking to the nearest Target or Best Buy will definitely save you a lot more if you want to purchase an iPad. To add to this, Target offers a discount if you purchase the iPad using Target’s credit card. Apple has already resolved the issue on availability and the iPad is readily available everywhere.
For the most part, Apple seems to be capitalizing on the absence of a strong competitor and it is making the best of the current situation, which would be the most intellectual thing to do at the moment. The Samsung Galaxy is expected to flood the market pretty soon and its advantage is it will be available for all the four major United States internet carriers. At the same time, it most likely will get ample display space on the four providers’ stores – AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon.
