iPad Modifications to Note

by Ava on September 7, 2010

It is like a bare new house, an awesome bare house unit if I may add. It was up for sale and you bought it and you know it has the bare essentials like plumbing and water supply, electrical outlets and electricity, windows, doors, et cetera. But it is still a bare unit by normal standards and you knew at the onset that you still have to buy or get for free a lot of items to fill in the house to make it function as a real house.

Your list includes chairs and tables, maybe a television, a security system perhaps, sound and video system to fill up your family room, games maybe like a billiard table or a console or two. And after the furnishing of the whole house is totally done, you amend and upgrade every now and then, especially if you see new items that are of better use to you. And so you discard old items in the house and replace it with new ones, newer (not necessarily better) versions of furniture and other items, and sometimes just new items that do not have any prerequisite in the house.

This filling up and upgrade process can be likened to buying an iPad. It is quite bare to begin with, at the onset of its purchase,  and you begin to choose items that would be appropriate to your lifestyle and needs and you visit the App Market and buy or just simply download different apps that stirs your whim – movies, music, books, games, and a whole bunch of other apps you deem is vital to your daily existence.

And while most while away their time running wild in the market searching for what they think are useful apps (to them), there are a number of users who tried to yank the external setup of the iPad a bit and show their creative side. And the most familiar theme applied by this group of people is the merging of old computers and the new iPad giving the gadget a flashy yet retro look which is really fun to look at. However, some who are inherent with a more daring inclination have tried other iPad variations.

The best sellers among these fun modifications include iPads being placed on a slat where they are slid into the front of an old arcade game housing serving as the arcade game’s screen. There is also an iPad modification where the iPad is ingeniously made into a skateboard or even the capability to walk on its own.
