The battle between all special feature mobile phones all started with RIM (Research in Motion) and Nokia trying to outclass each other with new mobile phone attributes every now and then. And what started out to be a technological rivalry between two IT firms has now spilled over and like an upgraded game, added on new players. Nevertheless, it is the same battle, same map, there are just new characters. Big names like Microsoft (which is not really doing that good but cannot be discounted since it may have the biggest coffers between all the players and it can sustain itself without years of ROI), Google who decided to join the fray, and Apple who now is (not seem to be) peer of the realm of all smartphones in terms of features and most importantly, earnings.
The status symbol in high tech mobile phones before was Research in Motions Blackberry and most businessmen and corporate people before had to have the Blackberry. But now, the “in” thing to acquire are either Android mobile OS run devices from Google or the iPhone, iPod touch, or the iPad all powered by the powerful Apple-produced iOS. And these two are now raking in the dough as of this writing, getting the biggest chunks in sales, based on the recent mobile phone marketing surveys. One of the biggest reasons why these two are the most sellable nowadays is because of their fresh operating systems and their workability. The functions and capabilities they offer are new and innovative and obviously appealing to many, hence, the skyrocketing popularity and equivalent earnings.
But as of the latest selling statistics, Android-run mobile phones are causing quite a stir and eating up a considerable percentage on the sales of Apple and Research in Motion. Somehow, “switcher” see a more accommodating, more flexibility in its apps, more application execution options, and more multitasking implementations which is not available on any other mobile gadgets. For many, since the use for Google tools such as Gmail, the Google calendar, Google docs, and Google have increased in the past couple of years, transferring to a Google-operated mobile phone, where fifty percent of its functions involve online usage, is not a hard thing to decide on.
Some are even skeptic on Blackberry’s ability to keep up with the times, meaning it may not be able to keep up with its competitors in terms of upgrades in technology and other functionalities.
