iPad’s reigning days are over since competitors have tried to match something up with this magnificent gadget from Apple. But with iPad’s early rival, it seems that it might be encountering issues as early as now. Instead of early reports that it will be using Google Chrome OS, it will use instead the Android system.
Report said further that the Android system can be replaced once Google Chrome OS will become available until then and that experts will then replace the system upon the requests of owners. This might one good way of making a comeback after the initial announcement of it using Google Chrome OS. But Samsung Mobile spokeswoman had made it clear that they will not replacing Google Chrome OS.
When the Galaxy will come out this fall, it will be using the Gingerbread – a 3.0 version of the Android- a better version than that of Froyo – a 2.0 version of the Android that is set for smartphones and not for tablets due to the screen size.
On the other hand, Eric Schmidt, Google CEO posited that Verizon and HTC are running tests to check on the availability of Google Chrome OS during the initial release for Galaxy this November. Definitely, they will not be replacing the Google Chrome OS with an Android.
Apparently with Chrome OS, users will be taken into a different dimension because it is the usual download-focused web interface unlike Android. As a matter of fact, it is centered on web applications and the source for apps for this operating system is from Chrome Web Store which needs OpenId to gain entry.
Furthermore, the Chrome’s user interface is more a person who spends more time surfing and that it more like a computer rather than mobile phone interface. If Chrome fails to be released on fall, then, the galaxy has to stick up Android since storage and computer-like functions for this might be too much already.
With Android’s smartphone-friendly system but the thing is that the Chrome OS is still and that it has not been tested for its reliance as an OS that could prove about its computer-like functions. It is also centered more on Web apps compared to Android’s Apps Store.
But Schmidt did not reject the idea that the Android system has a more valuable asset in providing quality service for smartphones. He said that the Android may rise in the future and that could surpass PC.
