A few years back, around 2007 back when the iPhone is just making its debut, the smartphone world is a totally different arena, and they were not so visible at all compared to today. But today, the scenario is quite the opposite, in fact if you browse the internet on a regular basis, you would probably notice that there is always a fresh Android smartphone almost every two weeks and you will be amazed as to how fast they upgrade their features.
For quite some time, the iPhone lorded it over the smartphone lists on the AT&T network and to this day, the iPhone is still considered as the benchmark for all smartphones, it was the purveyor of all smartphones. Currently, other phone companies have followed suit and the smartphone scene is now populated by robot sounding names such Nexus One, Evo 4G, Droid X, Droid Incredible, and the Droid and all of these are set to unseat the iPhone on the driver seat for all smartphones. However, these phones cannot connect onto the network of AT&T. Until the new Samsung Captivate arrived.
There are certain smartphones comprise a group of phones that have the same hardware specifications and they are the Epic 4G on Sprint, Vibrant on T-Mobile, fascinate on Verizon, and of course the Samsung Captivate for AT&T. They are all equipped with AMOLED Super 4-inch and a Hummingbird processor 1Ghz. They only differ in features.
The Evo 4G and the Droid X shares the same large Android touch screen as the Samsung Captivate. The Samsung Captivate stands alone in the AT&T network as the best Android phone. Its recording capacity is a whopping 720p HD video; it is equipped with a big screen, and a very fast and able processor. It is a very handy gadget because it is lightweight and is very slim on the hold, especially if compared with the Droid X and the Evo 4G.
It also has special features such as the sliding mechanism that holds the backplate onto the phone. It is beefed up by its 16GB internal memory and is upgradeable to up to 48GB. The micro-USB port is even protected by a sliding cover that allows you access. Smooth metal is the main material used for the phone’s back. The camera installed on Samsung Captivate has no built – in flash and it only shoots 5MP worth of small images.
