Android Beefs Up Kindle App

by Ava on September 27, 2010

The Kindle app for Android-powered phones was already awesome as it is when it was launched back in June this year. Now, Amazon just made Kindle more remarkably grand after it finished a makeover for the amazing app. The regular text search option in Kindle can now be done by both typing and – by voice. Annotating and highlighting specific text can also be done on the Kindle app. And connection to the book-exclusive social network Shelfari can also be accessed directly through the app. Exciting book info like the main and minor characters of a specific novel, summary, synopsis, and book description are some of the things that you may acquire by joining that social book network. You can also read and join real-time discussions on a particular book.

It is of note to know that the Kindle app is the only one of its kind that allows its users to manually highlight and ass notes to e-books which are coordinated automatically when transferred from one device to another so wherever you access it, the notes are highlights will always be present. Users can also look up words in Wikipedia and locking the e-reader at the same time so he or she does not have to leave the application at all. and to top it all, the Kindle app is absolutely free on the Android Market and those who already have the app will automatically get updated once they go online.

The voice search option in Kindle is really a breakthrough since you do not need to type when looking for a specific page in an e-book, one just has to utter a word or a phrase and the app automatically searches for pages containing the words.

Safekeeping the largest selection of some of the world’s most well-liked and popular books that have topped the bestsellers list at some point (and some currently are still on the list) now numbering more than seven hundred thousand titles and counting in the United States Kindle Store alone. This list includes books belonging to the prestigious New York Times Bestseller and New Releases.

Providing uninterrupted great book access with amazingly great features as highlighting and notating portions of great interest with an app download which absolutely cost nothing to download. And the new upgraded app is now ready for download in the Android Market.
