Clear mobile internet review

Clear wireless internet offers wireless services which are known to be quite impressive with speeds up to 6mb/sec. Also, the prices of their plans are quite affordable and for what you would pay a cable or a DSL company for a single home modem, you would be getting two modems per account.

The equipment

You would be required to sign up a contract with Clear and when you do that, you can either purchase or lease the modems. The choice would be entirely yours. You would get two choices when it comes to modems. You can go for a home wireless modem which would be approximately the size of a small book. However, this is a wireless modem and you will just have to use a USB cable to plug in t your PC. Another option is the mobile internet modem. Basically, this is a USB stick which is a small size. When you are in the coverage area, you would be able to access high speeds on your laptop of around 4mbps.

Again,  you can choose two modems with Clear. You can go for one mobile modem and one for home which is quite convenient. However, your choice would depend on individual requirements and circumstances. Also, you would need to install the software on the PC where you would be using the wireless internet. The software is actually quite easy to install and does not really hinder any resources on your computer which is an added advantage.

WIMAX

WIMAX is considered to be 4G and is a service which can broadcast up to approximately 30 miles from the central transmitter. Clear makes use of a new frequency and they have their own license for the purpose. This definitely helps them minimize the interference from the other networks.

The conclusion

There are several advantages of using Clear mobile internet. The biggest advantage is that you would be able to access high speed internet from anywhere you want. You also have the choice of two modems so you can select the ones that you would need the most. The services are good for those who are on the go for most of the time and need to surf the internet from wherever they are. You get a speed of around 4 mbps which is not always the same, but it is still fast enough for most tasks that you would normally want to do on the internet.

The drawback is that the network is still very limited. Also, if you are used to broadband at home and downloading a lot of videos and movies, then this might not be the ideal option for you.

The modem for home is quite fast but the main advantage of using Clear is when you are on the go. Clear mobile internet is affordable, faster than most others and does have a few good advantages.
