The Boingo Wireless had been formed by Sky Dayton in the year 2001 who had also been the founder of EarthLink, the internet services provider. Boingo uses a unique software which enables them to offer a service which is easy to use and which integrates several thousand hotspots in to a single system.

Boingo is in partnership with several different hotspot operators all over the world which makes it possible to roam through Wi-Fi network without having to pay extra charges.

The main advantage of using Boingo is that their software is easy to use and it automatically detects the hotspots of the partners. There are in all more than 100,000 spots all over the world which includes 19,000 hotels and more than 500 airports.

Another benefit is that since Boingo is in partnership with some of the biggest Wi-Fi network providers, users do not need to have different accounts, making it easier for travelers. The only drawback is that the subscribers would only get 3,000 minutes every month outside of the US.

Boingo Wi-Fi plans

There are three different Wi-Fi plans offered by Boingo. The unlimited package is offered at $9.95 per month and offers unlimited access to the Wi-Fi spots in North America.

The connections outside would be charged accordingly. The Boingo Global Plan costs $59 and subscribers to this plan would be able to get access to their complete network all over the world without any extra charges.

The AsYouGo plan is charged at $7.95 per day in North, Central and South Amercia and for Asia the charges are $9.95 each day. Usage of the plan in Africa, Middle East and Europe would cost $19.95/day.

Contract and payment options

There are no contracts to be signed by the users and no credit check is conducted. Users can pay through their debit or credit card which would be automatically billed at the end of each month. Outside of the US, the plans of Boingo are restricted to 3000 minutes.

Fees and charges

There are no activation fees or any type of cancellation fees charged by Boingo which is one big benefit. Also, there are no roaming charges to be paid by subscribers at all.
