Call for Papers Mobile Internet World 2008 Now Open!
The era of the mobile internet is at hand. The media and communications industries are in chaos. Traditional mobile operators are fighting disintermediation with convergence, while traditional media companies search for profitable and relevant business models in this new, mobile medium. Network operators and service providers of all kinds are competing to serve the next major frontier in computing — the mobile Internet user. The mobile Internet user will have ubiquitous access to computing and the internet at speeds equivalent to the minimum available on commercial wired broadband services in the local market. Mobile Internet World 2008 will attract over 3,000 attendees from around the globe.

Workshops, Summit, Track Topics and Description:
- Mobile Internet World Operator Executive Summit: Designed for executives from operators and service providers from around the globe. Featuring visionary presentations and discussions on the state-of-the-industry and state-of-the-market of mobile internet plans and deployments.
- Mobile Transactions Workshop: This half day program is geared to operators, service providers, technology vendors, chip manufacturers, point-of-sale vendors, mobile banking companies, financial firms (banks, credit card companies, etc.), system integrators, developers and content providers, Mobile transactions are payments and other transactions made with mobile phones and handsets. There are several different approaches. One is Near Field Communication (NFC) where the handset comes physically near the terminal, however not in contact with it. Another approach is to utilize the SMS gateway. The Mobile Transactions market is emerging as various players work together to figure how who in the end will share in the billions of dollars in transaction processing fees that will occur when widespread mobile transactions begin to occur.
